Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Harbor’s website, web app, mobile apps and desktop apps. By creating an account you agree to them. If you use Harbor on behalf of a school or district, you confirm you have permission to do so.

Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep your password and verification codes private.
  • School staff must use two-step verification.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you think it has been misused.

Using Harbor responsibly

  • Use Harbor only for legitimate educational communication.
  • Teachers: follow your school’s policies, including approval to use Harbor with students and families.
  • Share photos only as photo consent allows, and add only the student information you need.
  • Don’t harass anyone, impersonate others, upload malware or try to get around security controls.

Student information

Schools and families own the student information they put into Harbor. We use it only to provide the service as described in our privacy policy.

IEP assistant

The IEP assistant offers drafting suggestions only. It is not legal or professional advice and does not replace the judgment of the IEP team. Always review suggestions before using them. Your district’s IEP system remains the official record.

Marketplace and community

  • Never post student information. Listings and community posts must not identify any student. We remove content that does.
  • Only post materials you created or have the right to share. You keep ownership, and you give buyers a license to use them in their own classroom or home.
  • Paid sales are processed by Stripe. Platform fees and payout terms are shown before you list a paid item.
  • We may remove listings or posts that break these terms, and we act on reports promptly.

Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Harbor available, but it may occasionally be down for maintenance or because of things outside our control. Harbor is provided “as is” during early access. We may update features and these terms. We will notify you of important changes.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put students at risk.
